Carine Gabriel de Melo, 37, is a resident of the Júlio Otoni community in Santa Teresa. Since 2010, the entrepreneur has an online store, which started on Orkut and then expanded sales to other digital platforms such as Mercado Livre, Facebook and Blogger. Currently the business is a collaborative shop of sustainable fashion and conscious consumption.

Carine decided to get into this business after seeing that other virtual initiatives had worked out well. Initially, she did not have many expectations with the business, but she was positively surprised by the number of sales.

During those years of operation, Carine had to take a few breaks from her business. But during the pandemic, after losing her main source of income, she returned with sales and exchanges of clothes in her online bazaar.

The entrepreneur aims to formalize her business and intends to focus on the creative part of the processes of reusing various materials. Giving more attention to the sustainable part of her enterprise.

By participating in mentorships, workshops and meetings with other entrepreneurs, Carine reveals that she felt encouraged to face each of the challenges imposed on the journey of an entrepreneur. In addition to dealing more seriously with issues that she was leaving aside, such as mental health.
