Entrepreneurs Luiza Furtado and Marco Gidio, both 24 years old, have been married for 9 years and together they have the dream of launching their own brand of surfwear and streetwear.
The couple started their entrepreneurial journey with an online store focused on reselling multi-brand products. However, during the pandemic, the will arose to create a brand that had the couple’s identity, resulting in the @pororocastoreofc.
The term “POROROCA” is derived from the Tupi language that means “bang” and corresponds to a natural phenomenon, where the junction of the waters of a river and the sea occurs.
The duo, who are in love with the carioca beaches, besides having a conscious thought, aim to be a reference in sustainable fashion, being recognized for their products with low environmental impact.
They share the dream of their own brand with their formal jobs and with taking care of their 7-year-old son Daniel. Even with the difficulties of being employees and atypical parents, the couple’s goal is to launch the first products of the brand still this year.
Luiza and Marco say that through Project Hub they have been able to change their view on the potential of their business, besides having given the couple financial awareness.
