Tia Rose Cakes

Amanda Firmino, 24, is a resident of Santa Marta and has been working as a cake designer at @tiarosecakes for 5 years.

Amanda started her career in confectionery at a very young age, selling sweets at school. As a teenager, Amanda became pregnant with her first daughter. As she didn’t want to be far away from her baby, the cake designer saw in entrepreneurship the possibility of making an income.

Amanda has always looked up to her mother, who is her biggest source of inspiration. She is the daughter of entrepreneur Rosiane Santos, who has been selling handmade sandwiches in Praia Vermelha for 20 years.

Mother and daughter started working together. Rose sold snacks and Amanda sold pot cakes. Sales were a success until the pandemic hit and directly impacted their business.

Amanda continued to study and refine her techniques during the isolation period, until the confectioner learned about Project Hub’s application.

Amanda reports that the mentoring she is receiving in Project Hub contributes to the improvement of the management of her business. It also helps her to know who her target audience is and understand what her customers’ needs are.
